Drake, Cardi B Lead American Music Awards Nominees With 8 Nods Each

The nominations for the American Music Awards were announced on Wednesday, Ella Mai, Bebe Rexha, Kane Brown and Normani had the honors of announcing the nominees at the YouTube space in Los Angeles.

Leading the nominees were Cardi B and Drake who received eight nominations each, with both of them being nominated for Artist of the Year along with Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Post Malone.

Ella Mai, Bebe Rexha and Kane Brown all got nominations of their own which Rexha and Kane battling it out for best Country song.

XXXTentacion received two nominations, one being for best new artist, XXXTentacion was killed in Florida on June 18th.

Taylor Swift is up for four AMAs this year, the singer currently has 19 AMAs so far, she only needs three more in order to tie Whitney Houston for most AMAs won by a female artist.

The AMAs will air October 9th on ABC and will be executive produced and hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross.
